Legal Cashier

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier to work with-in the Court of Protection department at a leading law firm based in central London.

 

The ideal candidate will have good attention to detail, working well as part of a team who is committed to supporting individuals who lack mental capacity, and demonstrative experience of working in a similar position.

Your role will include the following, but additional tasks may be added as appropriate for the role:

  • Making regular payments to clients on behalf of the paralegals, solicitors and Partners.
  • Preparation of bank payments for authorisation
  • Keeping accurate schedules of these payments for each case.
  • Forecasting forward spending and creation of budgets where requested.
  • Managing professionally and confidentially any written and telephone correspondence with clients, other solicitors and third parties in relation to these payments where requested.
  • Raising bills for legal services undertaken
  • Supporting clients with the set-up of utilities by making contact with providers – helping manage those accounts.

Legal Cashier Requirements

  • 2-3 years of previous experience in a similar role
  • Ideally AAT qualified or studying towards
  • Ideally experience of Sage 50 Accounts and knowledge of Cashroom would be advantageous too
  • Computer literate to Intermediate level (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Person Specification

  • Experience of working in the legal sector or similar
  • Organised and accurate, with the ability to deal with a high volume of work autonomously.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Detail focused.
  • Ability to work with figures.
  • Organised and able to prioritise.
  • Good Microsoft skills particularly Excel.
  • Flexible and proactive approach with ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Good customer focus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong personality with the ability to constructively challenge departments.
  • Self-sufficient and prepared to take on any ad hoc roles as and when required in this dynamic office environment.

The position will initially be 100% office based but hybrid working can be offered after the successful completion of a probationary period.
